Paper Presenters

Each presentation room is equipped with a computer, multimedia projector and a laser pointer. Presentations are expected to be provided in portable data format (pdf), post-script (ps), Microsoft PowerPoint (ppt) or Open-Office format.

Authors should bring their presentations on USB memory stick to be loaded onto the presentation computer during the break immediately before their presentation. As a backup, authors can send their presentations to the ICEGOV2007 Organization Chair, Mr. Bernd Friedrich at bernd@iist.unu.edu. In exceptional cases, authors may request to use their own notebooks for presentation; having informed the session chair (through icegov@iist.unu.edu) before hand.

Presentations for workshop papers should not exceed 20 minutes with additional 5 minutes for questions and answers. Presentation of papers for regular sessions should not exceed 15 minutes with additional 5 minutes for questions and answers.

Poster Presenters

The poster session is designed to be an interactive and semi-formal session (good for networking) to present emerging ideas and work-in-progress. Each poster presentation will be assigned a station equipped with a board measuring 2m in height (or 78.7inch) 1m in width (or 39.4inch). Posters presented at the conference should measure approximately 100 cm (or 39.4inch) in height and 80cm (or 31.5inch) in width. Each station will be clearly marked with a paper number for presenters to identify their stations.

Posters should attempt to provide answers to the following questions among others:

  1. Poster Title
  2. Author name(s) and Affiliation(s)
  3. What is the question addressed?
  4. How have you addressed the question?
  5. What did you really achieve?
  6. What are the areas of future work?

Tutorial Organisers

Each tutorial room is equipped with a computer, multimedia projector and a laser pointer. Tutorial presentations are expected to be provided in portable data format (pdf), postscript (ps), Microsoft PowerPoint (ppt) or Open-Office format. All tutorial lecture slides will be made available to all participants. Therefore, all tutorial lecture slides should be sent to the Events Chair - Adegboyega Ojo (ao@iist.unu.edu) no later than one week before the conference.

Each tutorial lecture will last for 2 hrs 30 minutes. The audience for the tutorial lectures will be mixed - from academia, public and private sectors. Tutorial Organisers are kindly advised to communicate special tutorial requirements (such as demos) to the Events Chair (ao@iist.unu.edu) before the conference.

Workshop Organisers

Each workshop presentation room is equipped with a computer, multimedia projector and a laser pointer. Presentations are expected to be provided in portable data format (pdf), postscript (ps), Microsoft PowerPoint (ppt) or Open-Office format.

The Workshop Organisers are expected to present the workshop overview paper and moderate the presentations of the four papers assigned to the workshop. The Workshop Organisers will also direct general discussions at the end of the presentations. Presentations for workshop papers will not exceed 20 minutes with additional 5 minutes for questions and answers. The concluding discussion session will last for 25 minutes.

Panel Organisers

All panel discussions will be held in the Lecture Theatre 1 which is equipped with a computer, multimedia projector and a laser pointer. Panel Chairs are free to decide the format of the panel sessions. For panelists wishing to make presentations, they are expected to provide their presentations in portable data format (pdf), postscript (ps), Microsoft PowerPoint (ppt) or Open-Office format.

Each panel session will last for one hour. The Panel Chair is expected to make opening remarks, introduce the panelists, present the format for the session and moderate the panel discussion including taking questions from the audience.

It is important that sufficient time be given to interactive discussion between panelists and the audience.
